I have contemplated this in a "cause or effect" analysis- is it that I am a "stable person" (emotionally, financially, etc.) as is my wife, and that is why we are able to get into and stay in a stable marriage, or is it that the stabilizing characteristics of marriage are what lead/cause us to be "stable".
The more I think about it the less I think it matters whether it is cause or effect- the outcome is just so much more demonstrably better.

There are two sides in every divorce story. What if child/marital rape, drugs, affairs, and life ruining financial problems were involved.
Mother still shares blame for having kid with a dead beat loser. Shows she had bad judgenent

Forced sterilization would do it too, just saying.
Not even sterilization. They have those year long contraceptive rings, right? Just give them their entire years worth of welfare checks once a year and every year you have to go back and get the birth control ring switched out.

I'd imagine you have to compromise in most of non urban Louisiana.

They can do anything they want with their body, shitlord. Taxpayers just get stuck with the bill.

it's symbiotic and reinforcing
stable people seek stability and marriage is one avenue for that
this is likely why they parent so much better. they are stable, understand what they're doing, and invest in their children
if you want to do a major meta study on this, you'd have to put cameras in the houses of poor people v. rich people and compare the investment in children. i guarantee you that you'd see more investment leading to better children outcomes
as the failure of head start has shown, it's not educational opportunities at young ages

Seems like everywhere I go I see some white mom with two kids of different races with her

Perhaps the latter group will start to view it as their civic duty to have more children. That birth rate has dropped dramatically, and it explains a large portion of the "percent of children born to unwed mothers" part of the problem.
isn't that bringing married couples down instead?
I couldn't imagine paying for more than 2-3 kids even on a decent salary; between schools, college and housing

i mean i get the plight of single mothers, but at the same time (ESP if they have 2+ kids from different fathers), a male of quality has to ask "why is she going for a guy like me when it's clear she prefers the complete opposite type of guy?" are they lying to themselves or being much more intentional in settling on a provider? that's always my curiosity
i honestly, truly think they simply cannot comprehend that we just know a lot more things about the world and fully understand what their angle is (even if unintentional/subconscious). they're just used to the lower class "my vagina is valuable and can snag men i want" mindset. the fact that we may have motivations beyond just being able to get laid is beyond their understanding in many cases, and they simply don't know that once the sex get routine, we'll want/seek more

The amount of young white single mothers I saw on bumble and tinder was eye opening.
I looked at a co-workers tinder in Monroe. I think there were one or two women that didn't lead with "no games, not looking for hook ups, God and my child above all"

Yes.
It is not going to happen in today's society, but we should stigmatize having multiple children outside of stable relationships.
The reality is that we are just on a fast track to UBI.

Isn't the counterargument here that it's the systems fault that these kids are less likely to succeed? That society should be supporting these mothers and children and we obviously aren't doing enough? In other words, let's enable the behavior even further because facing reality makes me sound sexist.

agreed
but it's "mean" and that's just not acceptable
seriously that's about the only real argument they have to combat it. it turns into "why do you hate poor people?"
which is hilarious, b/c i DO NOT hate poor people and want to help them learn better behaviors/culture to stop being poor (or at least give their kids a chance).
most of the legit progs are just lazy ideologues who don't want to have to put in any effort themselves ot help people and just want to parrot ideological arguments like "increase government spending and be nicer to people". they don't want to help poor people. they just want to legitimize themselves within their bubbles

so much this
I hate how privilege is looked at as a negative nowadays and that people should feel guilty for their privilege
we should fricking celebrate privilege because it improves our society as a whole
the more privileged people we have, the better off we all are

Well, to be honest one political party benefits bigly from people being stuck in poverty and dependent on government money. The rank and file are just given march orders to shut this discussion down with classic ism and mean arguments.

Which is hilarious because those women still will end up fricking Jodys and Trevors and will have more bastard kids.
