The reason they did this is simple, Europe doesn't have shut when it comes to military strength. And what they do have, they lack the ability to project any real force outside their own borders. For all intents and purposes, as of right now, Europe lays as wide open and a $20 whore's legs before Putin's Russia.

I'm sure they knew that all Putin had to do was turn off the natural gas faucet to cripple them too.

I'd agree with you if this were still the 1980's. But the Germany of today has gutted its military. They've got some good equipment, especially tanks. They just dont have near enough of them or the well trained crews to man them.

Despite what many people want to believe, no one wants to go to war with the U.S.

That includes those crazy fricks in Russia.

We are past due for a world war. World population needs to be thinned out.

Listening to the news on the way home yesterday and they were talking about how many workers in china are about to be laid off because they are switching to robots. We have the same problem here. We can no longer afford to pay for people to sit at home and get paid so I say we will be in some BS war before long just to get rid of people under the guise of some patriotic horse shite.

What does that make America to Russia?

Right now they look at America and see a military ground down from two decade long wars and reeling from a morale standpoint due to progressive social engineering. The see an American army that's at its smallest since before WWII. They see a leader is is both clueless and spineless. And most importantly, they see that we don't have enough forces in Europe to do more than defend one single good sized city, much less blunt a full scale invasion.

Have you ever taken a look at the huge losses Germany took in the Battle of France? It was no cakewalk for them despite being a six week campaign.

There was a thread on here not long ago where I took the time to dig into the German losses in France in 1940. You'd be shocked to know how much the French made Germany bleed.

So you're saying we have to elect Trump? For the good of the land?

I'll give you that.

Previous engagements that America joined, or was directly brought into, lead me to believe that America would not be short on man-power.

Frighteningly spineless.

Easily correctable.

That's to be expected when a country spends 20 years building massive defenses facing in one direction. Taking a mere 6 weeks to blow through that is going to cost you.

I don't doubt that. France still signed the armistice though.

Not really. Ever hear of an exercise we use to do back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's called REFORGER?
LINK

Basically it was an exercise where usually we were shipping one heavy division to Europe to reinforce the other divisions we already had there. The problem now though is none of those divisions we had in Europe are still there. If war broke out today, we'd have to try pulling off a REFORGER of about four or five divisions. We simply don't have the shipping to pull that off in less than I'd say 4 to 6 months.

Russia is not the enemy. Islam is the enemy.

Now once the Islamic horde has been slaughtered and Europe reclaimed...maybe then Russia will be the enemy again. But for now they may need to be our allies

Ah but that's the thing. The Germans bypassed those defenses (Maginot Line) and instead sent their main thrust north of them through the Ardennes.
