A startling claim that the west is on course for war with Russia has been delivered by the former deputy commander of Nato, the former British general Sir Alexander Richard Shirreff.

In a book published on Wednesday, 2017 War With Russia, Shirreff argues that the events in Crimea have destroyed the post-cold-war settlement and set the stage for conflict, beginning next year.

In a chilling scenario, he predicts that Russia, in order to escape what it believes to be encirclement by Nato, will seize territory in eastern Ukraine, open up a land corridor to Crimea and invade the Baltic states.

Why cant everyone just get along? Why does Russia have to always be the drunk a-hole at the party?

This has absolutely nothing to do with the upcoming election or raising the question "Who would you want in charge if we went to war?"

I could not agree more. Yeah we have to stand with our NATO allies. But it's past time for them to start pulling their own weight.

Nobody in their right mind wants that. Even a conventional war in Europe would be a disaster.

Peace is for the women and the weak. Empires are forged by war.

Except for the cheese-eating, surrender monkeys that inhabit France. They can stay home.

It pissed me off so bad when the Ukraine situation started and the first question was "what is the U.S. going to do?". That shite was unfolding in Europe's backyard and the EU starting looking at us.

The reason they did this is simple, Europe doesn't have shut when it comes to military strength. And what they do have, they lack the ability to project any real force outside their own borders. For all intents and purposes, as of right now, Europe lays as wide open and a $20 whore's legs before Putin's Russia.
