I built mine a treehouse. I'm just going to give him a couple of small trucks/hotwheels.

Despite all the shite you are catching, this is actually a very good question. We have 2 boys, now five and eight, but that phase of their life can be tricky for presents. As others have mentioned, trains and trucks are definitely a go to item. Also big puzzles or wood blocks or anything with numbers and letters that they can learn from is also good

That is what my 3yo is getting. He's not all that happy about it.

Posted by finchmeister08 He's about to be 3 in February, and I'm not quite sure what to get him. Any ideas?

Not a lot. Seriously.

Grandparents will load him up, and you'll end up with a ton of stuff in the closet that you never see again until you pack it up next year to make room for next Christmas.

Just avoid the wall tracks, unless you are a sadist.

Can't go wrong with this. Great pretend play and durable toys.

I have a 2 and a half year old, and he's obsessed with cars and trucks, so that's what he's getting. I'll probably contribute extra to his mutual fund and that's it. Whatever your son likes, double down on that.

Boxes. They play as much with the boxes as they do with the toys.
