It doesn't bother me if it's just 2-3 months out of the year. I'd take it over 6 months of heat all day. The climate in Raleigh is pretty similar to Nashville or some place like that. I've spent a lot of time there. I lived in WA state near the Canadian border for a year and I prefer the cold to the heat as long as it's not Minnesota or Dakotas type cold

Yea Houston is great! you can look at a bunch of fat kids in cargo shorts waiting in line to get an autograph from JJ Watt at the Galleria. You can also enjoy some delicious Texas-Mexican eggrolls from the same local shitty restaurant that's on every corner. When you knock off of work at 4pm you can sit in traffic on your daily 2 hr commute back to Katy.

yea if you live in Katy.....lol....what the frick were you doing at the Galleria watching fat kids in cargo shorts weirdo?

Next time you are in Houston try eating at Pappa's Bro's Steakhouse and get back to me.

I spent a week in Grapevine, Mansfield and Trophy Club, Tx.

I live in Roanoke, next town out 114.

There are trains about as long as my commute.

Folks that have to commute so far put themselves in that position.

If it matters move to a part of the area with several employers who need what you do. That way you can change jobs and not have to drive across town or sell your house.

Lived in grapevine. Now live in geismar. You can get anywhere in the metroplex in the same amount of time as it takes to get from i10/73 to DTHS @ 7:30am

Well I would definitely rather live in the Appalachians than the Midwest.

I had a job opportunity there years ago and turned it down. I regret it now but I work in a fairly prevalent industry in Raleigh. I could easily find a job in that metro

All these high paying jobs in Dallas I have no idea when someone actually works sitting in traffic half the day.

My commute is 20 minutes. Hardly half the day.

I live IN Dallas and wouldn't want to live in Grapevine or any of the burbs. You definitely do more driving up there and I agree it is generic.....and very beige. But the neighborhoods are majority white and the schools are majority white which makes the people up there feel safe.
