Why the shite did my dumbass Dr prescribe me prescription flonase when the OTC shite was on the shelf?

Many people have the option of getting insurance to cover the cost of it if it's written for and filled. Your doc isn't the dumbass in this instance if you overpaid for it.

ETA: though he very well could have mislead you.

Do any of the oral allergy meds that you take that last for 24hours, make your heart race as a symptom?

I am going to try the Flonase on sale. Same price as if I got an Rx.

Yeah, this actually sucks because my insurance won't cover it anymore, and nor will I be able to use my HSA to pay for it (scripts and doctor/hospital visits only.)

This can happen with the "D" version of all of them.

Cheaper with script. Boo

Surprised your insurance will pay on it since it's available OTC. Bet they stop doing that soon.

Do they treat you like a potential junkie when you buy Claritin d and make you show your license? It still infuriates me to this day I have to show my license to buy a fricking decongestant. The red arse was really bad a couple weekends ago and I went to buy some after the pharmacy area had closed.

I started using it this year and it has been a miracle drug. I am severely allergic to tree pollen. It is debilitating and I've been suffering from it for decades. Ive tried everything under the sun but nothing has worked like Flonase. I've been taking it for a few weeks and this has been my best spring in over 20 years. But the season is almost over. Most trees have fully bloomed and the rain today likely washed away the last of the pollen.

Wal Mart sells it for ~$14 for a 60 day supply, ~$24 for 120 days. I also pay about $3 through my insurance per month, making it roughly half priced.

120 sprays, not 120 days. 4 sprays per day (2 each nostril). Get your facts straight.

That would be Afrin that causes that not Flonase or any other intranasal steroid.

Some insurance companies have already stopped paying for the generic of Flonase since Flonase is now OTC.

You're right. That was very poor math on my part. I forgot to think.

I just started Flonase for first time and thigs were good for a couple high pollen count days. Then the wheels came off yesterday. I think I'm gonna have to go the shot route. Nothing works

Not by a longshot. At least not here in atlanta. You can count on it going through April
