Like someone said earlier, a huge problem are the people trying to beat a light and get stuck in the intersection.

I don't think much can be done besides maybe taking away the light going north right before the interstate. Yea you take away the access to 10 east but there's 3 lights right there in less than a block.

Or demolish Wal-Mart

I hate to say this, but you know what solves this problem? Red light cameras

They need southbound facing ones at every Perkins intersection.

Does this mean that the projects not yet completed in GL1 that are not listed are never going to happen?

Some things I'd have liked to see expanded in capacity that were not included with this BTR plan:
-5 lane Greenwell Springs between Central Thruway and Magnolia Bridge
-6 lane (divided) Bluebonnet between Perkins and Mall of LA.
-5 lane Sullivan between Wax and Hooper
-5 lane Jefferson between Tiger Bend and Hoo Shoo Too
-5 lane Pecue between Airline and Perkins (before they finish the interchange)
-4 lane Antioch between Jefferson and Tiger Bend
-5 lane Flannery between Old Hammond and Choctaw
-5 lane Greenwell Springs between Airline and Oak Villa
-4 Lane LA964 between 61 and Rollins Rd.

Then I'd like to see regional cooperation and/or state and federal funds for these regional scope projects:
- 8 lane I-10 between MRB and College Drive
- 6 lane I-10 between 1 mile west of LA415 and MRB
- fix the drainage and pavement at Gov Mansion curve I-110
- 4 lane Highway 30 between Lee Drive and Airline Highway in Gonzales
- 6 lane Airline between Florida and Plank (with wider median) and between Jefferson Highway and Gonzales
- 8 lane Airline (and wider median) between US190/Florida and Jefferson Highway.
- 4 lane Florida/190 between Denham and Hammond
- new 4 lane road over Intracoastal connecting LA415 to Brusly
- 4 lane LA16 between Watson and Amite
- 6 lane I-10 between Highland Gonzales

And these new toll roads:
- Southern freeway loop connecting I/10 in WBR to Gonzales/I-10, including a bridge crossing at Plaquemine Point
- Turnpike connecting I-10/Sorrento to I-12 in Livingston

but that problem is for people traveling on Perkins. If you are going from burbank to 10 it doesn't matter if Lee is 3,4,or 5 lanes...they will still backup at perkins b/c of all the congestion on college.

Acadian would make the most sense to widen but LSU ave will never be widened

only after doing the widening in BR...it may not even be necessary after everything else is done

Nah. When you cross Perkins heading to 10, you get the problem at the next 2 lights. Obviously it's not the biggest problem, but 1 or 2 jackasses in an intersection might mean 20 cars don't get through.

I cut through along hyacinth and go to Acadian to get to 10 east. Even through there, I avoid hyacinth and the light at hyacinth and acadian

I agree.

Ascension and Livingston probably need their own version of Green Light as well.

Agree. Them not doing this easy fix shows how incompetent the people are that are in charge of these projects

The following in this current plan were ones I'm certain were in GL1:

Glen Oaks
Jones Creek
Hooper
Old Hammond
Highland/Burbank Connector

And maybe even Dijon

Airline Highway
Florida Blvd/190
LA 30

Those three are viable alternative routes to I-10 and I-12 in Baton Rouge, Livingston, and Ascension. They should be upgraded and expanded.

The railroad may still be a concern.

I think the plan to run Dijon around OLOL is part of all of those new roads they want to build in that medical area.

I am not sure they came up with that until a year or two ago. I know Midway Blvd is new.

Maybe.

EBR taxpayers are paying to widen Highway 30 between Burbank and Ben Hur. They have to rework the Brightside intersection completely.

I'm surprised, but College Drive widening is actually listed on this plan. I guess they want to take it from 5 lanes to 7?

Also listed is Lee Drive widening, but I suspect that it will be limited to 3 lanes through Southdowns, then 5 lanes between Lee high and Highland. That would still help.
