Tired of this game Cox plays with long time customers. My bill goes up every 2 years and I have to call to get it to go down a little and agree to another 2 years. Have the Cox bundle with TV, internet and phone (which I could do without). What does the OT recommend an alternatives?

UVerse or EATEL if it's available in your area. Otherwise, you pretty much have to take it up the arse.

They all pretty much fit the description of your OP

They do a lot to attract new customers and don't do much once they have you

I dropped cable but kept my internet with Cox and my bill was cut in half.

Honestly, aside from football season I really have no reason to have any cable service. Just sign up with Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime, if you are looking for something to watch.

same problem. I argued one time with them, that I would just cut off the cable and get it put in my fiancee`s name to get new customer discount. The cox girl didn`t like that, she said that would be cheating the system. Thing is I don`t sign the 2yr contract, because you never know when you`ve had enough.

Not much you can do unless you plan to cut the cord. If you go to another service, they will play the same 2 year deal.

Also, you won't have better internet than cox.

Is it feasable to keep internet only with Cox and go with Direct TV or Dish?

Uverse guarantees the price for two years, but you only commit for one. Their mid tier internet has been more than enough for me to stream on multiple devices simultaneously. And I'm paying $40 less per month than cox with more premium channels and more DVR boxes.

I cancelled cable and have Netflix & Amazon Prime. Between those two and youtube I can always find something to watch. Get someones watch espn password & you're set.

You are a sucker if you agree to two year contracts, unless they make some huge concessions. The only reason I did it with Uverse was because I was getting gigabit internet and a free samsung galaxy tab 4, and free HBO.

Get rid of the home phone. It's useless. Tell them you want your price down to X amount, no contract. If they refuse, tell them you want to cancel because you can get a better deal with direct tv, dish, etc.

What sucks for me is that my cox bill is $185. $65 of that is for internet. No slower options to pay less. TV is $120, and I don't even have any premium channels. SIL has bundle with house phone and her shite is barely over $100. I don't feel like I should have to subscribe to a useless home phone service just to get a cheaper bill.

Not for me. I've never had issues getting someone on the phone and having any issues promptly dealt with. Cox on the other hand was equivalent to getting teeth pulled.

Start looking at cutting the cord man. You can get a Sling Box fro $20. Personally, I pay for really good internet and torrent everything I need. I don't have the Sling Box but you get the ESPN channels with that. I have the option of all going up to work and having every sports package.
