Cox is literally no different in how they treat you than other offerings available to you. They all have discounts that have timed limitations on them.

The only difference is that Cox provides better internet service.

Start looking at cutting the cord man. You can get a Sling Box fro $20. Personally, I pay for really good internet and torrent everything I need. I don't have the Sling Box but you get the ESPN channels with that. I have the option of all going up to work and having every sports package.

Do you have a comparable option to DVR with this, or do you have to watch everything live?

What sucks for me is that my cox bill is $185. $65 of that is for internet. No slower options to pay less. TV is $120, and I don't even have any premium channels. SIL has bundle with house phone and her shite is barely over $100. I don't feel like I should have to subscribe to a useless home phone service just to get a cheaper bill.

This might be the best deal going.

If you don't need the phone, drop it.

If a phone call once every two years bothers you, kill yourself.

I dropped cable but kept my internet with Cox and my bill was cut in half.

Honestly, aside from football season I really have no reason to have any cable service. Just sign up with Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime, if you are looking for something to watch.

We did this recently.

With Sling TV ($25/month), Amazon fire, chromecast, Netflix, HBO Go, etc there's enough to watch plus we cut the bill in half.

How does this work for married couples and families. Wive's watch different TV shows than guys, kids watch all kinds of different toons and programming....

This is where my issues lie with cutting the cord or something similar. HD packages, DVR's and keeping the wife and kid happy with TV are important. Just tired of getting raped by cable company.

SlingTV won't work. You get one account for use on one device at a time.

well i wasn't necessarily talking about Sling TV, just cutting the cord all together and streaming or torrenting.

I personally could do it, but i just don't see how that will/would work with the wife and kid.

If you're in a large household with multiple tv's and multiple age groups it'll be hard to satisfy everyone after cutting cable assuming you use cable daily.

You are going to get fricked no matter what cable company you have. Just get rid of phone and cable and stick with internet.

Amazon firestick and load KODI (XBMC). Get a HD antenna and password for WATCH ESPN. All set. Just make sure you have fast Internet. Saved thousands this way and have access to more programming than the highest tier of what any of these companies can offer. Cut the chord.

At least you don't have a data cap like we do here with Comcast. shite sucks. I have to stream Netflix in regular HD like a fricking poor person.
