Steve was also a big inspiration for a great South Park episode.

Hopefully his kids inherited his charm because Crocodile Hunter was always a fun nature show where most are stuffy and boring
I saw an interview with the daughter awhile back... And she seems to have the same enthusiasm he had. And when someone has that enthusiasm, they come off more genuine, which makes you appreciate what they do.. Instead of a show that is built around someone who has to "create a character".
What I mean by that is.. This is just my opinion, but that Guy Fieri guy. It doesn't matter of he is doing a show about food or exploring different sexual fetishes, his character is fabricated and it just sucks.. But you take someone like the crocodile hunter, he made you feel excited that he came across a lump of crab shite..

Guy comes off as genuine as Steve.
People just associate Guy with being a douche.

Besides the Japanese crewmembers, are you talking about anyone else's lives they are endangering?

To be fair a lot of celebrities who thought they were helping whale conservation ended up swindled and financing ocean bumper cars.
If sea shepherd was serious the vessels would be stocked with drones, video and listening equipment and turning that over consistently to the treaty nations. Kinda like how it's actually carried out by the real enforcement of the treaty.
More or less most whaling will stop once the Nissen Maru is compromised. I think Norway gets away with doing with no factory ship and the Inuit take a speed boat out for a killer whale for religious reasons.
So one is inefficient and the other is going to die out with the Eskimo tribes.

Well yeah, there's the other idiots on the boat with them, who the captain is quick to put up to risking their lives. Fatass captain doesn't get a jiggy when it's his arse on the line, but he has no problem sending idiot kids to their death, does he?

While I agree that the boat should be grounded, those 'kids' are all in their 20s and 30s.
The show is awesome in such a bad way.

Yeah, for the world today drone footage and triggering people on social media would be the way to go. But 10 years ago or whenever that show was on, being a comedy of errors was the best way to get publicity. So much unintentional comedy.
