My job provides one and gives me credits for achieving certain Vitality Status. NNext year I will get a $100 savings on my healthcare costs per month. So basically I am getting paid $100 a month to wear mine.

What about those of us who have taken care of ourselves? I've been training in one form or another for last 18 years and nobody is giving me any discounts.

I'm all for anything to help people get unfat but the incentive should be not dying a horrible fat death, not insurance discounts.

It's a silly watch, but if it helps you then that's great. If they could only figure out one that would shock the shite out of you every time you pulled into the McDonald's drive through then we would be onto something.

I get the discount because I take care of myself, not just because I am wearing a fitbit. If you are a fat arse and don't exercise at all then you pay the normal rate.

To answer your question, what about the ones inshape already? then you would receive thhe discount almmost immediately.

Easy to see. You wear it, you become a Crossfit champion, it's like, automatic or something.

I've never seen a crossfit person wear one. Now, I've seen ever fat middle aged woman wear one.

Microsoft band is MUCH better than the Fitbit imo. It tracks more stuff (calories burned, hr, gps tracks your hikes/runs/bike rides) and works as a smart watch at the same time so you can see incoming texts, calls, etc right on the band while you are working out. If you play golf you can use the band to track your golf game as well.

That is for the newer Microsoft band 2 that just came out. You can now find the first one for $100. I still have the first one and it does all the features I just mentioned.

The latest one just looks better style wise. It has a couple additional features as well.

I had a jawbone and it stopped working, the people at jawbone prolonged my claim and never sent me a new one. So I have a $100 slap bracelet. F- Jawbone I see no one ever mentions them and they are uncommon so I hope they go out of business.

My mom got me a knock off one that is like a watch, but I don't like the strap so I never wear it.

Where did you get it?

I only see it for sale on some obscure websites I've never heard of

Eta: never mind, found it on Amazon

Will be stuck in a drawer by this time next year, while the owner stuffs his/her face on their couch located next to the treadmill that has coats and boxes stored all over it.

I went to the Microsoft store to buy mine(but I bought it the day it was released). Spent an extra $20 for their warranty plan (covers band if screen gets smashed or band gets damaged in any way). I just brought my band into them in August cause it was acting weird....they just gave me a brand new one (band 1)to replace it.

My husband got the latest one (band 2) and it is nicer. I'll keep my current one for as long as I can and then upgrade to one like his.

You can't get incoming texts, calls, emails on the Fitbit.

Meaning....you can read the entire actual text message received on the band and see exactly who texted or emailed you

Also....can't pay at Starbucks with Fitbit band(you can with Microsoft band....I have my card loaded and it syncs to band and barista just scans my band.)
Or check UV levels with Fitbit.

Also....I don't think Fitbit tracks golf games either.

It has call/text notification so I guess you'd have to take your phone out of you pocket to see it. I don't answer calls, text, emails while exercising anyway

Starbucks while exercising?

90% of the people I've seen with them are obese-morbidly obese who apparently seem to think that a Fitbit by itself will cause them to lose weight.

I see a lot of fatties with a Fitbit. So I'm not sure that it is very effective.

Idiot, don't you think overweight people who want to be more active and get in better shape would actually be the targeted buyers?
