I can't imagine that there was a time when smoking on airplanes was a thing. If I were a traveler in the 70's, I might have had to drive everywhere....

The GAS STATION nearest me on Jefferson has a couple of employees that smoke right next to the front door.

It's actually not insignificant at all to children or adults with asthma. Are you saying people who know the smoke will trigger an asthma attack should just politely wait until the smoke has cleared before entering the grocery store?
I think it's wrong for both employees and patrons to smoke anywhere near building entrances. The smoker should choose to smoke in their car or at the back of the parking lot where they would expose less people.
People certainly have the right to smoke, but others should have the right to not be exposed when walking into main entrances.

What really bothers me is that whenever the cooks or chefs are outside smoking like chimneys as a group, and I seriously doubt they wash their hands before they go back insode and cook my food
