It really doesn't matter who the superintendent is in this school system. Between the ignorant parents and ignorant board members, nothing will ever be improved. Anytime the superintendent tries to do something different to try and change the status quo, they are met by resistance from the parents, teachers, and board. They should just hire a person less qualified and for less money since they are pretty much lame duck in their position.

This is, unfortunately, the truth. Public schools in Louisiana are screwed.
Wait for 2025 when the score of Basic (a student has a basic understanding of what going on in the classroom) is no longer counted toward SPS (school performance score) Most of our schools in Louisiana will be failing schools.

The guy uses threats and coercion against employees and lies to the public. So many things that he and his cronies have said at board meetings are just blatant lies.
The biggest con he is running is the "Pathways to Bright Futures" program that lets kids take dual enrollment classes in high school to earn an associate's degree before graduation. The courses they use are accepted by very few universities. The professors who are supposed to run these classes never show. It is just a complete joke.
When a teacher friend of mine tried to explain this to Narcisse, he called her a liar to her face. The next week, she was suddenly getting daily walkthroughs of her classes. To her credit, they couldn't find any faults because he is a great teacher.

When someone like him constantly jumps from one job to another, the narrative is often that he’s talented and moving up the ladder for better jobs.
Often that person is falling up the ladder, and gets exposed as soon as he gets stuck somewhere for more than a year or two.
He didn’t even meet the requirements for classroom experience when hired. BESE had to change the qualifications specifically for Narcisse.

I hear all the absolute BS that occurs in Ascension schools from my wife every day. I can't imagine what it must be like trying to wrangle all those shitty arse teachers in EBR.

IMHO it all goes back to the schism in the school board that lead to the St George movement.
A majority of the board was fine with dysfunctional schools and told the other side to go start their own.

CATS at least has the opportunity for “enrichment opportunities” due to funding and shitty accounting practices.
Superintendent is too high profile to do that kind of thing and get away with it.
