Which one do you use more?
I'm about 50/50. I study both sites, but I hate paying taxes on Amazon. They need to be like eBay and get rid of sales tax

Amazon just started taxing LA. I use amazon prime a lot more. Ebay pretty much only for rare stuff not still in production.

Amazon just started charging tax in 2017....

Louisiana passed a bill requiring them to so that "local businesses would have a level playing field"

Some sellers on eBay charge tax. Not all sellers on Amazon charge sales tax.

If you buy from third party sellers on Amazon you won't pay sales tax. Sometimes that's not an option but I haven't paid sales tax on anything I've bought from Amazon this year.

I use Amazon for everyday things and what I would call normal purchases.

I use eBay for unusual or harder to find items. Ex: the replacement tires and wheels for my 20 year old remote control car.

Amazon - Every day stuff, stuff I'm willing to pay full/normal price for, stuff I want quickly.

EBay- I really only use Ebay when I have something specific I want and don't want to pay full price or its hard to find it elsewhere. For example, I want a specific, not-that-popular pair of Olukai flip flops in a certain color - I'll see if it's on Ebay. People stuck with a not popular pair of flip flops in size 13 just have limited options to unload them.

Stuff like that, or clothes (Amazon doesn't have any good deals on Orvis, Peter Millar, etc.) can be good on Ebay, especially if you find it from an individual seller. I mean, if your mom bought you a specific Peter Millar blazer for Christmas in a specific size, you're going to be limited in selling it if you can't return it for some reason. Good chance you can get that on a pretty deep discount if you know what you want.

Downsides to Ebay are sorting through junk and scoping out reliable sellers. But it's pretty easy if you have common sense.

I use Amazon quite often. Ebay is the yard sale of the internet.

Amazon 90%
Ebay 10%

May sway more towards Ebay now with the whole Amazon sales tax thing

I use Amazon several times a month. eBay, maybe 1-2 times a year.

lol yes it is. eBay features same storefronts as Amazon and if you don't have prime they are faster and cheaper 100% of the time.

In fact eBay ships from Amazon distribution centers.

Eta I use Amazon to fill up my cart then get the SKUs and buy it all from eBay.
