The left lane is for passing and the right lane is for cruising. If you want to cruise, get in the right lane.
Neither of you are right in this situation but if it bothers you so much, stop cruising in the left lane and follow the rules of the road.

The worst is when you're passing someone easily (at least a 5mph difference) and right when you are alongside, they match your speed.
..and you were steadily closing on them the entire time, it wasn't some rare moment where they slowed for a minute or 2.

I've noticed traffic in relation to my own driving is worse, now that I'm not in my truck, but instead a small convertible. I now get arse-monkeys who basically try to drive right over me, and that's even when I'm going with the faster flow.

Honestly though, taxi cab drivers around here think the left lane is a HOV lane. I do my best to make their passengers uncomfortable when they jet across 4 lanes of interstate to go 65, and then swerve back in Kenner like they don't knew where the airport exit is

If there is s line of traffic in the fast lane, and there's not a Semi in the front, then it's because of a dumbass in the front. Everyone in the line is just waiting for the person in front of them to get over, but they won't because it all comes down to the a-hole in the front. So, you have to pass the front idiot to have open road or at least be able to go the speed you want. Most of the time you can't pass all at once, so you advance a car or 2 at a time. I'll make a maneuver like that just to not spend the next 10-15 min accelerating and breaking.

Around 8:30 this morning, I was chilling in the far right lane of I-10, in no hurry, just east of Beaumont, TX, heading home. Behind me I saw a silver Chevy Silverado hauling some serious arse, whipping in and out of traffic, lane to lane, and flashing the hell out of his headlights. The very 1st thing I thought of was this thread.
When he went past and I saw his big LSU decal on the back window, I started laughing so hard I nearly ran off the road. Which one of you clowns was this? Thanks for starting my day off on a humorous note.
