And it'd be a damn struggle for me to be married to a woman who thinks that she runs the family. I'm the man, I make the household decisions.

Why couldn't it be the husband and wife make those decisions together with good communication and compromise...you know...the keys to a great marriage.

Hey, didn't say I wasn't gonna work. Just said I'd tap into the bank account if need be. Hell, I'll prolly just end up having my own. shite, that's he money she earns let her do with it as she so desires. Within the realm of reason, of course. As long as we can afford groceries and bills. Then whatever is hers can be hers.

His statements are rather hypocritical on his beliefs on "running a household".

Do as you please. But I find it hilarious that you already have a limit in mind on how much your SO should make. It screams insecurity/jealousy issues on your part.

Well, my parents have been married damn near thirty years, my dad has made all the decisions. Do you think that in those almost thirty years that my parents haven't communicated, or haven't compromised? I wasn't raised by a controlling dickhead of a father. I was raised by a father that demanded respect from his children who loves his wife and they keep getting happier and happier together. I was raised in a household that believes that the man of the house is just that, the man. Holy frick, you people make it seem like I would be the slave master to my wife, whoever she is. Quite the contrary.

I think I know what I can do for April Fools Day though.....tell him I want to quit my job and be a stay at home wife(mother when we have a kid). See how long I can be super serious about it to him and see his reaction

I know a lot of smart people who didn't go to college. As long as we are able to have a conversation, I wouldn't care if she didn't go to college. I've known a lot of idiots with degrees.
