I am sure most of you would agree every family has its problems. Some have more than others, but when you see a family that appears to be "the perfect family" do you think "I wonder what they are hiding".

When I talk about "the perfect family" I am talking about a husband and wife with two or three kids. Every time the husband talks about work or personal life he always says how great both are going. The wife talks about how the kids are all making great grades in school, everything is lovely, etc.

If there are "the perfect family" then I am happy for them, but does anyone think there is no such thing? I mean nothing is perfect.

My family more or less fit your description when I was growing up.

How can any family be perfect with humans involved? We are all flawed.

On that note I have a great wife and two productive adult children. No ex wives, no step children, etc.

My best friend growing up had parents that were pillars of the community. I was around him enough to see that at home, the mom was an uber-bitch and the dad was verbally abusive to his kids. He never said a curse word in his life, but he could make innocuous, almost comical words like "stumblebum" or "stooge" sting like a slap in the face.

In adulthood, I think back to the perfect families I knew and now see they were messed up in their individual ways.

The most important, maybe even only, aspect of the perfect family is defined by the way the family treats each other. Work may be going well, kids may be top performers, no financial stress or tragedy or infidelity, etc., but how would the family's relationship itself hold up if all of those things came crashing down by no fault of their own?

Whenever the Communists come to power, the first thing they do is destroy the traditional family unit. They started doing it here in the '70s. Oh you thought we didn't have filthy red Communists at the highest level of our government?

True.

But even for him, this is ridiculous. He literally started a thread asking a ridiculous question that he knew the answer to, answered the question in the first sentence, rambled about a different definition of "perfect family" he made up being husband, wife, and 2-3 kids, then took it back to the definition of perfect being what he originally posted, of which he already answered.

How long do you think he sat around today trying to think of some inventive, creative thread, so he could start something he thought was ground breaking. And came up with this cluster.
