And if so, why? Who are the idiots fooled by it?

It's gotten so it works the opposite on me. When shite I might normally click throws in a "you won't believe what happens next" or "#3 will blow you mind".......it's instantly radioactive.

I also don't know ANYONE whose response to pop up ads isn't to close them in a fit of frustration as fast as they can. But, the ads exist, so there must be tards out there

I recently read a Top 9 reason why click bait doesn't work anymore article. I couldn't believe the results of thier findings.

Advertising is how websites pay the bills. If you don't click the click bait, then you're cheating the system.

I never click links and never answer phone calls from people I don't already know.

If it honestly interest me I'll look in the comments for the list. People shouldn't click that shite on principal alone.

Yeah, that "bombshell" ends up being that she told a crowd she was once the First Lady or some bullshite.

"You won't believe what this mother caught her husband and daughter doing!"

Saw the above once. Fairly sure they were making cupcakes or something stupid, couldn't help but notice the obvious click-bait for pervs angle

Pretty sure my dad's favorite thing to do is take an ambien and pass out to those top 10 lists. When I used to live with them I'd wake up to Web pages like "Omg these celebrity nip slips are unbelievable, you won't believe number 4!"every morning

I have the same response, doesn't matter how interesting the title may sound, if it's not 1 article on 1 page, i'm out.

I re-considered deleting facebook again this morning. Almost 10 out of the first 12 stories in my feed were either dumb shared videos, or click-bait buzzfeed.

I recently started a website, and was struggling to get views. I wrote a cheesy click-bait article and shared it on facebook. Within the next week I had over 250,00 views. So yes, they still work
