Yes, and they prefer Dan, otherwise they would go by Danny or Daniel and then I wouldn't know someone named Dan.

There's nothing more annoying than people correcting how you say their name. How bout you just tell me what your name is and let me decide what I'll call you?

You should just ask your coworkers what they prefer to be called. Will make for less awkward conversations in the future, and subsequently less shitty threads.

My grandfather was called Dan, my uncle was called Danny, his son goes by Danny and my other cousin goes by Daniel.
