I grew up in Palo Alto, CA when there were still plenty of average working class families. It was a great place to grow up. I couldn't afford to live within 25 miles of there now. Tech money priced all my family out years ago and now we're scattered all over the US.

I grew up on Laurel. If you stay right inside the neighborhood it doesn't look a lot different now. Fewer trees I'd say. But the area around Christ the king is a dump now. Those apartments destroyed that section.

The area? Yes. Alexandria and the surrounding area depresses me.

But my parents actual home? Hell no. They have an awesome house in the middle of the woods. Love going back.

I grew up in a small town in southern Missouri. The town hasn't changed much. A few new businesses but that's it. The only thing is that I don't know everyone in town like I used to. I haven't lived there in over 20 years.

Not depressed, but I definitely am reminded of why I moved away after a couple of days.

Its more disappointment than it is depression. I see what BR is and know it's not living up to even close to its potential.

Think my old neighborhood where I spent years 6-12 has been rejuvenated. Actually some families still live there, many homes have been renovated. Neighborhood I spent years 12-18 has gone to shite, of course it wasn't much 40 years ago either.

Absolutely, AP post-flood is incredibly depressing, and my family can be pretty tough to deal with.

Yes, I get back to Bogalusa about once a year or so to visit my aunt. Very depressing to see the old neighborhoods.

A few years ago I'd start up 2 Words With Friends games with you when I was home because I guess I was bored/depressed.

Yeah there is a lot of growth in my hometown. Lots of city people have moved in and bought up the old farms and ranches. It's depressing to see but just gotta except that's the way life is

I love going home but it is another state. Rolling hills, seasons, pastures with livestock, no traffic and no people from Canada.

I've been pretty lucky in that dept. My old neighborhood in Bossier Parish has grown some, but it's still a nice area.

A few years ago I drove by a few of my childhood homes and neighborhoods. I haven't lived in any of them in over 30 years, it was just plain depressing.

Since both my parents died, I have not been anywhere near home. You could not make me go there. Cherish your time there, I promise you

No, bossier has grown a lot

It was much more depressing 20 years ago when there was practically nothing to the place
