I have dreams where I'm throwing hundreds of punches but can't hurt the guy

It's not something that happens often but everytime I get into a fight in a dream I move in slow motion and get my arse kicked. Anybody else have similar dreams ?
Yep. I can't connect on any punches and/or it's slow motion
quote:yes! I have had that too. Be like wtf! I can't stop this crazy fricker.

flunking out of school over and over

I was told once that the reason your punches are in slow motion is because the sheet and blanket are actually keeping you from punching. Don't know if that's true, but it does make sense.

I have the exact opposite experience. In my dreams I beat peoples' asses that are two times my size. I have no idea why I dream stuff like that, but if I'm fighting someone in my dream they are always much bigger than me, and I somehow always kick their arse.

I either can't punch hard or my knees are so week I can barely stand. I keep falling over and know if I can just get my legs under me I could win the fight
I also have dreams that I try to shoot somebody and either the bullet is like a cork gun or no matter how hard I squeeze I'm not strong enough to pull the trigger.

Congrats. I read this post and then looked at the username to confirm it was Walt. And I was stunned it was not.

So yeah, youd be first to go in a Freddy Film.

No, I kick arse in my dreams. Alpha irl, Alpha in my dreams. It is good to be me.

Always fall down running base path in dreams, when I get up, I seem to run in place. Ducks always lighting in decoys, when I pull the trigger, the shot trickles and rolls out the barrel

It's because punching (like running) is a highly-coordinated activity that relies on proprioceptive feedback throughout the motion to work. Since the thalamus clamps down both on the transmission of the motor signals you'd need to effectively complete the motion and the perception of joint-motion data while you're asleep, everything feels bogged down and slow.
Compare that to 'flying', which is a), something we can't do normally, so we have no basis for comparison to see if it feels right or not, and b) superman-style flying about doesn't require significant body motion anyway.

My last dream I was in a boat and didn't have a motor so I tried using a whacker packer as a motor
Yea I dunno either

I still have that dream on occasion, I am always at school and when I get to class I realize I missed my final. It's weird.

I can't run or have orgasms in dreams. So frustrating.

I used to wake up before I die. Past few years I've started dreaming through it. Very weird.
Posted on 8/15/15 at 11:18 am to Tiguar
It's bizarre. Can't really describe the feeling when you wake up either.
Posted on 8/15/15 at 11:26 am to SmokePurpleLiveGold2
This happens to me a couple of times a year. It seems like every time I wake up from these dreams my arms are asleep.

Weak punches here too, frustrating as hell
