I believe it is an innate character flaw in all humans that we need someone to look down on and something to make ourselves feel superior to others. For some, it's their itelligence. Others, their athletic skills. Others, their ability to attract the opposite sex, musical talent, wealth, car, ect.
Wealth has always been a class divider and a status symbol. Clothing is more often then not, the most obvious and easiest vusual clue of social and wealth class. But, if everyone has school uniforms, and is thus wearing the exact same thing, how does one tell the difference or differentiate themselves? Brands.
Some are associated with lower classes, and others are associated mid classes, try hards, or actual high classes (note: actual high class people rarely wear things with visible brand names because they don't need people to know they have money. When you've got it, you don't have to flaunt it).
Since there has always been a stigma against being poor, the place one's clothes come from becomes an arbitor of social status. If you're not attractive, or smart, or funny, or gifted woth some kind of talent, then people better think you're rich or they won't like you. Sucking at everything, but people thinking you aren't poor is at least marginally better than the worst status possible: sucking at everything and everyone knowing you are also poor.

I bought a two pack of And 1 shorts from Walmart on Black Friday that cost me $8.50.
I have no idea if they will last, but I dig 'em, so far.

Before the wife and I went to Playa Del Carmen this summer I wanted some new bathing suits. Bought 5 solid color for $6 each....they held up fine

I sometimes buy myself clothes from there, depends on what I need or I pass up something nice. But as for my kids, my girl is a little older so I'll splurge on her. My boys 95% of their clothes are from walmart, I'm not spending 50 for an outfit that in a month is gonna be all jacked up with holes and stuff or grown out of. My boys are outside all the time.

Frick yeah I do.
The champion and starter sweatshirts I have are from Walmart.
They are just solid grey or black and cost like a couple bucks per sweat shirt.

Are you trying to ask if my chair is manual or electric? Its electric, but I have more mobility than Stephen Hawkings.

My sister used to get bent out of shape about not having the name-brand shite but I didn't care where my clothes came from. I don't remember getting hassled about it either in school. I was also more than happy with my Payless shoes, too.

I have pants, jeans, socks, underwear, and belts from wal-mart. Only reason I don't have Walmart shirts is because they don't sell Tall sizes.

Not Walmart bc I physically get in a bad mood when I go in one, but I do have some wranglers from target. I stopped buying lees and Levi's bc each pair I bought ripped in the crotch

Can buy high quality denim that actually looks decent from Abercrombie and Fitch for $30. Really unsure why more ppl do not take advantage of that.
When I was working as an iron worker jeans from those stores, Old Navy, Gap.... never lasted. Walmart Wranglers and a brand called Key from Ledets Welding Supply that were $16 regular price lasted the longest.
