There aren't any coffee shops in Louisiana like there are in Chicago and New York where they're on every other corner and almost all owned by Greeks.

I usually tip a dollar at coffee shops. Super easy when I pay with my phone at Starbucks.

I have a coffee shop at my work.

They run my card and don't even give me a receipt, so no I don't tip.

At PJ's, yes because they are paid like a regular waitress and rely on tips. At CC's, I just give them my coin change because only poors keep change.

I went out with one chick that I would talk to a bunch, but it turned out she loves Jesus more than the D, so I lost interest. Probably could've Isomed her, but I'm not risking it with all that coffee she drinks

I asked a starbucks girl about this the other day. She said they make $9/hr and split the tips weekly based on hours worked. She said it works out to around and extra $1-2/hr.

Knowing that the cute girl ringing me up isn't getting the $1 in the tip jar makes me much less inclined to tip.

(These numbers are for a starbucks in a 66% hispanic city, so they may vary depending on location)

I don't get coffee from coffee shops often but when I did I would usually leave a dollar in the tip jar

Now I probably wouldn't

If you order a beer at a bar, do you tip?

Same amount of work, if not more for the barista.

If I order a espresso drink, definitely. If I know them, then yes too.

But if I am getting a cup of drip, maybe a quarter.

I have a friend that is a barista, and she clears $50k a year. Its not a bad gig. She does work at one of the hottest coffee shops in denver.

So nobody in here knows what TIPS stands for i guess.

To
Insure
Proper
Service

Service means you had to fill drink orders, run food, get my a-hole kids 50 refills. That is worth a tip.
Filling a cup up with liquid? frick no you're not getting a tip.

Baristas do more than fill a cup unless you are just getting coffee.
