Do you think the US was "evil" to drop bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Obama apparently thinks the US is evil for doing so. He didn't apologize for it but for him to say that it was "evil" may just be worse.

frick that guy.

“Let all the souls here rest in peace, for we shall not repeat the evil,” the president said. “We come to ponder the terrible force unleashed in the not so distant past. We come to mourn the dead.”

What's worse, slavery or dropping the A bomb on Japan? Let's take a vote.

No its not evil. It's patriotic

No, it was a necessity to save American lives.

The only thing to know here is that Japan would have somehow won had that clown been in office at the time.

My honest way of looking at it was that we were out of the war and Japan drug us into it. Never complain when you drag someone into a fight and they end however they need to.

The bomb also saved Japanese lives.

My grandfather served in WW2. Listening to him choke up because he had to watch friends die and listen to them drown was terrible and something he took with him to the grave. Japan learned the hard way you don't tug on Superman's cape.

Absolutely not.
America used to be Luca Brasi. Now we're Bubbles.

Yeah, these threads are always 99% in favor of the move as it saved lives in the long run. I know we have some experts on here who will break it down and say there was no surrender yet, but I heard a relatively decent case from an historian who thought Hiroshima was fine, but Nagasaki was a war crime.

Hellz nah, we saved about 250,000 American lives as a result. What's the old saying? Oh yea, "don't start not shite they won't be no shite." Their sneaky asses should have thought twice before sneaking us at Pearl Harbor. Further, they had ample opportunity to give up and chose not to do so.

No, Japan would have never surrendered otherwise; but those things are inherently evil. We shouldn't ever use them again.
