The new Keurig we got a few months ago has a "strong" setting on it. Makes a world of difference especially with the better brands.

Paul Newman Organic on strong is legit. Dunkin is pretty good, too.

I did get the metal funnel for my commercial machine, just to take one more piece of plastic out of the equation - but I use the commercial paper filters - $11 for 1000 of them.

Mrs. Midnight insists the main problem with Kuerig is the plastic taste that comes out with the end product. The more I've tried them, the more I tend to agree - tastes like burnt plastic.

Paper filters remove the oil from the coffee. If you have good, fresh beans, you really strip away a lot of flavor. Keurigs are just overpriced coffee pods with mediocre flavor. Just get a decently quick coffee maker, a stainless steel permanent filter, and a cheap grinder. Even a cheap setup is much better than your average cup of coffee, without much effort. An oily cup of fresh ground coffee is night and day better than anything from Keurig.

I use a Chemex every morning with freshly ground beans. It's quick, consistent, yields my necessary 16-20 oz and I'm out the door. Only draw back is that the chemex doesn't retain heat well at all. Not a problem for me as I immediately pour into the thermos.

But to answer the question, I prefer drip for sure.

Bunn at work, always ready, always hot.
Survival in the jungle...every bit as important as comfortable shoes.
But, yeah, french press is best... Sam's Club k-cups ain't bad though.

I use a kettle and Kava instant coffee. It tastes great and you can make it freakishly strong.

For convenience purposes only, I use a Keurig single serve at work, good ole Mr.Coffee at home. McDonalds coffee (drip or pod) seems to be fine for my purposes.
