I've only met one person. He was a little older with no kids.
I think about this from time to time when people bitch about living from pay check to pay check and being broke. I wonder how many people out there realized that one could survive without having to pay for tv.

I think about this from time to time as well...think of the money the average family could save if you cut out all telecom except a single telephone line...

Nah man. It is an American right to have a smart phone with the full data plan for everyone in the house.

Why on earth do I need to pay 80+ bucks a month for a bunch of channels I won't watch when I can watch what I want, when I want it?

Hand raised. I don't watch much besides sports, and everything's available online somewhere if you know where to look.

I have a 65" TV, $3200 pair of speakers (RF-7), expensive amp, preamp, and DAC.

But I have no cable because I'm cheap. Haven't had cable since the 90's. I get by with rabbit ear antenna and firstrow.eu.

If I was living alone, I would have no problem at all with no cable. I would rather read anyway and you can rent for free from the library or find stuff on-line.

I haven't had a tv since I moved out after high school. A mix of hulu, netflix, redbox, espn through internet provider, subscription to a sport and Front Row sports is plenty.

My brother just has rabbit ears (cut the chord last month), but he also has Netflix and I think access to ESPN 3 somehow.

My Aunt and Uncle up in Baltimore don't watch TV or have Air Conditioning.

If I could pay for around just 5-6 channels that I actually watch, plus local tv, that would be a perfect setup. But nope, 1000 channels that are mostly crap is the current situation. I went one year without TV before.

I just use the antenna. If there is something I want to watch, i find it online or go to the bar. I also use my brothers Netflix account when i want.

Serious question, how do you watch LSU games (assuming you want to catch all of the fb games)? I would guess ESPN 3 but you need a corresponding cable provider? Do you get to watch them live?
