When their team comes to play LSU.
Outside of LSU games, I'd say because there are enough "natural disasters" to keep them occupied.

Y'all honestly think LSU games and natural disasters are what keep the hotels occupied?

Yeah dude. Natural disasters every decade or so keeps those hotels profitable.

Had a co-worker recently go spend a few days in the area touring around all the plantation homes, etc in surrounding areas. They stayed in Baton Rouge. They had a great time.
Had another co-worker taking a family vacation to Florida recently and was excited to split the trip up by staying in Baton Rouge for a couple days and 'experiencing' La. Not sure what he was expecting but cut their stay there to just one night. He lives in Katy and pretty much said he felt like he was at home except it was an extremely dirtier home.

When I lived up in NLA, I was shocked at how many people stayed in BR for Mardi Gras and drove to NOLA because it was cheaper.
Then again, I knew a lot of trashy and cheap people up there.

Yeah man, FEMA kept them all afloat in the 8 years between Gustav and the GREAT FLOOD.

I don't think BR has an insane amount of hotels considering the size of the city.

We wouldn't expect a liberal to understand basic economics.

"Due in large part to it's highly developed highway infrastructure and efficient mass transit, Baton Rouge is held nationwide as a model of efficiency and can-do attitude when public and private entities join together to solve problems. The Central City area has bloomed as gentrification became prevalent there due to tax incentives offered by forward-looking city leaders. The city is rivaling Boston as the most walkable metropolitan area in America."
