I'd suggest talking to them [women, not just sorority chicks] in a situation where it is comfortable/makes sense. It's one thing to talk to someone when everyone is bullshitting before class starts.. another thing to approach a girl across the union sitting with her friends.

The older they get the more willing to date outside the Greek system...when I was in college I dated one for six months. She was in her fourth year and totally done with frat guys. Most of her friends felt the same...

Dude you need to get out and figure this shite out for yourself. Nobody bats 1000 with girls, just go figure it out. Quit crying on a message board, sack up and go figure it out. Theres 15,000 girls at LSU, if you frick up with one, move on to the next. Best part of a big school. You would have really been fricked if this was 15 years ago.

Well meet people in other settings. If you're not in a fraternity, you probably don't do much "campus activities" anyway so you might have more in common with someone who isn't Greek.
I have never had a single spark of interest in a fraternity guy (though I've dated one who graduated) because I don't care to participate in campus events other than football games. And the sorority girls participate in WAYYYYY more and it's mandatory.

In my experience there are two categories:
1) Those who probably never should have gone greek to begin with; and
2) Those who are glad they did but over all the trappings of it (most people by the time they hit their 3rd+ year).
The first is the category this guy wants. The latter just goes for fraternity guys who are similarly tired of going to chapter and whatnot.

I married one. We met my junior year, dated through college, and got married after she graduated.
I went to all of their parties and got to see what it was like to be greek, without having to spend a dime, and getting to keep my real friends.
