Have you tried spraying the yard?
For another option, 1 clove of garlic per 50 lbs of canine weight is an effective remedy against fleas. I bake homemade treats and put fresh garlic in them. Even though vets say a dog can easily take 1 clove per 50 lbs of weight, I use about 1 clove per batch of cookies and they only get one or two cookies out of 12+ at a time. I have had little trouble with fleas. If you use garlic, do NOT overdose as it can be toxic in high quantities.
If you go to a pest control store that sells chemicals they sell a bag of spreadable pesticide granuals. After you cut your grass use a fertilizer spreader to disperse. That shite knocked out my gf's yard in no time. That and the same brand makes a spray that knocks the fleas off the dog immediately. Call and pest control store and they'll know.
I have two dogs and have yet to have a single problem with fleas or ticks. I spray my yard year round with this stuff. I can't remember the last time I found a flea or tick on my dogs. I have a big back yard with lots of big landscape. It works great on mosquitoes too
