Again, more proof that they're almost the same thing. OP just needs to see what small minor differences matter to him (or even if they do).

Depends on what you are really wanting to get as far as pricing and channels. I had DTV for 2 years and recently switched to Dish. I had no issues with DTV at all and enjoyed it. Had the ultimate package with every movie channel and bill was not high. I switched to Dish bc they have the tailgater portable satellite I will use for tailgating. I will have SEC, Big 10, and PAC 12 networks plus the multi sport package with NFL red zone. I don't care for Sunday Ticket as I much rather watch college football more and then the Saints on Sunday. They both have comparable HD channels. I will say that you can have folders for Dish with your favorite channels and only those pop up so you don't have to surf all 300 channels for your favorite and can have 4 folders. Also dish had the slingbox technology built into the Hopper so you can watch what you have at home on your phone as long as you have Internet connection.

You don't need DTV for direct ticket anymore.

My 5 year old doesn't seem to have a problem navigating through DTV channel organization.

Maybe you're just too dumb to watch to TV.

I looked up Fios and it turned up a Verizon product. I was checking it out and pretended I wanted service and it asked me a few questions and at the end of it all the provider they had for tv was.......Directv.

Weird.

Had already googled it, but @ the link.

So this benefits absolutely no one who doesn't live in a jacked up apartment building. So basically, yes you still need DirecTV cable to get the ticket; unless you live in a roach filled apartment dwelling in which case you can pay $250 to watch it through your game console or $200 to watch through a tablet or something.

I see your facts-based comment, and I'll raise you a similar one.

Dish hands down.

I've had both DTV and Dish, I like Dish more.

I love the animosity these threads start...

"My huge corporation that doesn't give a shite about me is better than your huge corporation that doesn't give a shite about you!"

"No mine is!"

Cracks me up too

I'm contemplating getting rid of all of it and doing everything over the internet. Need to look at the pros and cons before I jump.

Which would you choose?

Dish.

And I've had both. I was with DirecTV for over 15 years.

The technology, customer service and pricing are all better at Dish.

It's one of the best kept secrets in the industry.

Will opt in for NFL RedZone next month.
