I asked the one who isn't changing hers at all about it and she flipped out on me. Went on and on about how she has her own identity and doesn't feel the need to change her name. Apparently they're not planning to have kids so that also played into her decision.

Yeah, but Julia wasn't excited about my last name (Goolia).

I do it when I rent a car or a boat, why not a woman?

My bad. Hadn't seen one recently. Only asked because the conversation came up at work today with one of the girls.

Your name comes off it when the next user takes possession.

My wife did and was weirdly excited about it, but I seriously would not have cared if she didn't. Neither of my sisters took their husbands' last names.

As long as the kids take my name, I'm all good

I should caveat to mention she only finds time to oppress people when she's not watching the Bachelor or some shite

my friend just got married, and his wife kept her last name.

it's strange, theoretically i don't have a problem with it, but knowing her it kind of pisses me off because she is a condescending little twat.

Absolutely.

However I do have a friend whose wife didn't take his last name, and they gave the kids both last name, but her last name as a middle name, so their kids had 4 names, first name, middle name, middle name (wife's last name), husband's last name.

Each kid had 2 middle names, a given name, and the wife's last name as a middle name.

Yeah this matters. If a nice chick did this to honor her dad that died when she was young or something, its a totally different ballgame.
