My grandfather used one of these in the back in the late 90's. I know the point of these things was to prevent auto theft but all you had to do was get a hacksaw and cut the steering wheel to remove it. Hell anyone know someone who still uses it?

I had one. I only used it when I parked in Nola. Ironically, I had a car stolen in Baton Rouge later in life.

Had one. It could be a nice weapon if the need arose.

I used it for a long time on my '66 Mustang convertible. Most car thieves are so young they've probably never seen one. Car never got stolen, so I guess it worked.

Seen a lot of people have cars stolen that used these. The thugs learned how to pick the lock or just cut it off. Amateur thieves it scared off. The professional theif they could take one off quickly.

My friend used one on his Mazda Miata with the radio you could pull out the slot. He got his car stolen one day and it was back the next day with $100 taped to the trunk telling him to buy a real car you loser!

I had one until a couple years ago but was too lazy to use it much.

Not a bad thing... While it could be removed by saw or whatever, most thieves go for quick and quiet.

A car I bought came with one of these. I have never used it, but it does look heavy duty. Nowadays, if they really want your car, they will get it, sooner or later.
