Did "I" kill my new oven? Paging Napoleon or any electrical types

Our house flooded so we ordered a new kitchen set. When I removed the old range I had turned off the breaker and decided to wrap up the wires (ground, black, red, and white) with electrical tape and just left them and the junction box on the ground. Apparently about 2 weeks ago my wife thought it would be a good idea to aimlessly flip breakers after the power had gone out for a little while.
Yesterday I'm installing the new range and didn't even think to go look at the breaker box because only an idiot would turn it back on with my kids and animals running around the house. I untaped the ground and then untaped the black wire luckily only holding it by the tape and the cord. When I let it go it hit the back panel and popped/flashed/etc. After I scold my wife and calm down I finish making the connections, turn the breaker back on, and there is no response from the range. However, if I turn the knobs for the range the display flashes "12:00" and I'm able to interact with the control board normally but it doesn't actually heat the cooktops or the oven. As soon as the knobs are all turned to off it goes back to a blank screen.
I assume that the control board is fried but a new one isn't cheap and it would be nice to get it working as soon as possible.

Take that shite back to wherever you bought it and tell them it doesn't work.

just call the store you got it from and say that it's broken and that you need a new one. pretty simple

Thought about that but I ordered it from Amazon, it already took 3 weeks to deliver. Not sure if I can afford to go another month without a way to cook meals.

I hate returning things.
I would probably just install that one for looks and cook all meals on the grill from now on.

I turned them all back on but it does seem like I'm not getting juice from one of the 110 lines. Could the breaker itself be fricked up?

Congrats on making yourself a really expensive digital clock

Baw, get prime.
No, but seriously, how fricking awesome is it that you ordered a stove from Amazon?
With Amazon's customer service contact them, they will carry a new range to your house tonight and take the old one from you.
Seriously though... amazon... You ordered a stove from amazon... Can't get past that.

Only an idiot would venture into electrical work without verifying that the breaker is off.

I didn't have contents coverage so I'm replacing as much as I can from Amazon and putting it on my Amazon credit card. I'm gonna need that 3% rewards on these big purchases to pay for Christmas.

Read my mind, I don't always work on my own electrical but when I do, I wing the shite out of it

you need to see if you're getting 240 to the range with a digital multi meter. Just had this issue with my brand new AC Condensing unit. Threw the 40 amp breaker*(was not tripped) and turned it back on. Voila. Condensing unit was working.
After probing the wires at the unit i was getting 120 on both legs but not 240 when checking voltage across them.
This is always a sign that one side of a 240 volt breaker is not making connection.
