Were you addressing the sales guy by His name or were you tasking His name in vain? Depending on your inflection it could be interpreted very differently.

I do this on accident almost. I have serious buyers remorse even before it's finalized. I can walk in with 30k in cash knowing it's getting spent on a car and still feel the remorse of pulling the trigger and actually handing it over. There's always a lot of me questioning myself and researching if this is the best deal. I've never once asked a salesman for a price reduction. Me stalling and weighing my options has them always coming to me with discounts. Time is really the best way to get a deal. The longer you take, the less likely you buy. Learn to balance that with you looking like you'll actually buy and you get a better deal.

Joke is on you if you're willing to spend an entire day at a dealership to save $50. Poors

Car dealers don't want 30k in cash.

How about I'd pay more money to slowly drain the happiness from their day and watch as they scramble to appease me? I'm a sociopath, remember?

I learned from a local jewelry store owner. He bought a car from me and in 9 hours I didn't drop a single dollar or give additional service

Been friends ever since.

I offered $1,300 under list price on a 14 Yukon last week.
They wouldn't sell it.

Let me and the wife get up and walk out.
I couldn't believe it.

1) If you sold cars before you know that dealerships don't want you to walk through the door with your own financing. You just took away one of their $$$ makers. Should have said nothing about that.

2) Why WOULDNT a dealership ask for a deposit to hold a vehicle for you until Saturday? What if someone walks in the door tomorrow and wants to buy the car on the spot? Are they supposed to just pass up a sale for some guy with no investment who may or may not show up on Saturday - or who may try to negotiate & walk out? That would be stupid.

For someone who used to sell cars, you sure don't seem to understand how the business works.

Buying my wife a vehicle. Called bank, requested financing up to 40k. Good to go, just have to go to their any of their preferred dealers to complete the paperwork and have a month tp find what we want.

Why would a bank make you go to a preferred dealership? Is this the Monopoly Bank?

I've never heard of such a thing.

Honest answer, I can negotiate until my name hits the paper. I get there when they open and leave when they close. Eventually it becomes a game of how much is the sales guy and sales manager's time worth. I'd hang out all day to save 50 bucks just to enjoy besting another human being in a game of mental fortitude.

I do that every time I buy a car. I'll spend 3 hours with someone and walk out, no matter what. I take a few weeks and several visits to buy a car. I also call other dealerships and lie about the best offer a different dealership gave me. Invoice price? bullshite.

You two guys have no clue how to buy a car and Jesus has raped both of you before and will do so again.

How many ups/potential sales did you miss out on in those 9 hours with your friend and how many more sales could you have made if you would have just tossed in a couple oil changes and some clear coat?
