Need OT help. My oldest daughters BF has asked for my OK to marry her. They have had a great relationship. About 5 years since 11th grade. She is about to graduate as RAD Tech. He works for his dad laying tile.
I told him we will meet sometime this week for lunch to talk.

So, need advice on how to steer the conversation.

How many girls did he bang before yours? This does matter. Sounds young though 24/25.

You may as well say yes because if you say no, she's going to marry him anyway.

Easy. Does he treat your daughter like you would want her to be treated by her (possibly future) husband?

Assuming she's of traditional age of a soon to be rad tech grad they are probably early 20's.

And also assuming that if he's been around this long your family probably likes him

Honest question. Are you pretty well off? As in made sure your daughter enjoyed the nicer things in life?

So what are they, 20?

Terrible mistake. There's nothing you can do to stop it.

Tell your daughter you support her but the statistics of getting married that young aren't good, and that if they love each other they still will in 5 more years when they are more settled in their lives.

She won't listen. But you can just state your case and then give your full support.

Yeah that's bad if it went down that way already. More than likely he thinks you hate him now.

Be supportive and not defensive for starters. This is your chance to take care of your baby girl by fostering how your envision him taking care of her. No need to give either of them a reason to be upset at this point in their decision.

Lays tile?

Is your daughter attractive? Could probably do better.
