I have a coworker who drives an Audi and he has front and back cameras in case there is an accident.

More and more commercial vehicles are using dash cams.

All our company trucks have them.

It will be standard equipment in all new cars in a few years.

Slow or not, the dump truck was in the right hand lane where it should have been.

I drive this stretch every day. You can see the 3127 flyover from the foot of the 310 bridge. It's flat and level and it was broad daylight. The tanker truck driver wasn't paying attention. Period.

As a part of the interstate highway system you still must maintain a minimum speed even if he was in the right hand lane.

Also, nighttine streetview?

I do... dashcam kit and an SD card cost me like $60 and that was over 2 years ago. It turns on and off with the car and I don't have to touch it or do anything unless I decide to pull footage off of it.

If I get in a car accident or get pulled over I have evidence of exactly what happened.

From NOLA.com

So it was a lady driving the dump truck, but how in the heck did the tanker driver live??

Why do y'all always jump to the conclusion that someone is picking a side?

It is an observation. Nothing more

With the amount of insurance fraud out there (people purposefully causing vehicles to run into them), it's a smart idea.

I've seen quite a few youtube videos where dashcams have caught people quickly swerving in front of a semi and slamming on the breaks.

Which lane was the dump truck in?
There is a lot of focus on the dangers of left lane driving, and I'm just curious.
*Edit*
Right lane... sorry, didn't see the post above. Thanks

frick every dump truck that travels on I-310. Every morning they're either hauling arse at 90mph swerving from lane to lane or they're hogging the left lane going 20 mph under the speed limit. Sorry for the driver of the dump truck and her family but maybe LSP will finally take notice we have a serious problem on that stretch of road.

My dad said this morning the SCP and State Cops were out in full force all over the parish writing tickets. Never see them pull over 18 wheelers or dump trucks though.
