Searched, SIAP.

LINK

Just found this on Twitter. You can see the gasoline spew into the air seconds before ignites and the fireball erupts.

Heard the dump truck was going really slow. Not a excuse but the do go really slow on that stretch and then exit to 3127 where they go even slower. I've seen plant guys run up on there arse and get all pissy a few times

Looks like an action movie with that car leaving the fireball. I am sure he needed new underwear.

This happened seconds after I passed that dump truck. I didn't see the explosion but I remember how freakin slow that dump truck was going. It was almost as if it was having engine problems. If you can't go anywhere near the speed limit the vehicle needs to be taken out of service.

I was there about 30 seconds after it exploded and was stopped across from it (about 1/8 mile away).

I just was heading home at 10:30 this evening from downtown NOLA and 310 is still closed southbound.

So the tanker ran into the back of the dump truck and exploded like that? That's a freaking impressive explosion.

I have no idea how the tanker driver lived and the dump truck driver died

Likely load shifting and blunt force trauma.

If the dump truck was carrying anything, it would have shifted forward from the impact. The gasoline (majority) went airborne and then ignited.

That's what I am hearing. The frigging dump trucks run constantly from the Barriere Construction asphalt plant to the barges on the river...all day...all year. They are crazy slow when loaded with rocks, and are often being driven by some very old drivers just trying to make ends meet.

I drive these roads daily and have for 13 years.

I am saddened to hear that the dump truck driver lost his life and the tanker driver is burned beyond recognition.

It's strange to me that these people drive around daily with dashcams on so they are able to catch shite like this. I'm glad they do, but it's never occurred to me to want to do that sort of thing.

It's pretty common in Russia.
