Being a little liberal with that word aren't we? I mean the dude is literally just falling.

Eh I'll give it to him.

Now that takes balls. Dude jumped in shorts and socks.
If the guys with him messed up he would be dead.

lol.....dude jumped out of a plane 25,000 feet in the air, without a chute and landed on a net 100ft x 100ft. A shitload could go wrong. Only thing didn't have to worry about was his parachute not opening.

shite like this is stupid. Especially when it airs on tv. It's just a way for the channel to get a ton of advertising money. Also, the crowds at these things always look so scripted and fake. I can't imagine how many commercial breaks they had and how dramatic they made it look.

You do realize the guy is a professional stuntman right? Do they not get to have kids just because of their line of work?

Exactly.

And he landed on a spot much bigger than tiger stadium.

"100 x 100 foot net"

LINK

"jump out of an airplane with only the clothes on his back, freefall for about two minutes and successfully land in a 100 ft. by 100 ft. net."

LINK

100 x 100 foot net.

I know that there are an awful lot of people who don't understand basic units of measurement well enough to apply them to everyday situations, but seriously, have you ever been to Tiger Stadium? You know it has a football field inside of it, don't you?

This guy landed on a net that would't cover 1/4 of just the football field of play.

I was just going by the post earlier in the thread, 1000 x 1000

Either way, I bet the risk is very low for failing

I've seen this picture around since the dawn of the internet (okay, well, like at least ten years) and I simply don't get it. Is there something I'm missing here, because they are perilously close to death, right?

He landed on a net as big as Rhode Island. Wasn't that impressive IMO.

From 25,000 feet? I'd say it was impressive. From where he jumped you really can't even see the net. There is a lot of room for error and without a chute, little chance to correct.
