If at first you don't succeed, don't try sky diving without a chute.

Being a little liberal with that word aren't we? I mean the dude is literally just falling.

He's not literally just falling. He's using his body or a wing suit or something to aim for a small target. That's not something average joe couch potato can do.

Regardless, he's not "just falling"

This is just fricking stupid. It's worse than the idiots who BASE jump in wing suits and inadvertently fly into a cliff face.

I had a friend who was in the British Army in their airborne regiment, 1st Para, I think. He had I don't know how many jumps in the military. Became an avid skydiver. Fast forward about ten years or so and he had about 800 jumps. Not the most in the world, but certainly no rookie. He managed to kill himself while wearing TWO parachutes, but was not working with a net...

Why doesn't he just wear a parachute and not use it?

I would bet he will have one on. We just won't see it or know it. He will use it if something goes wrong and FOX will claim they had no idea.

Travis Pastrana jumped out without a chute but at least he had enough sense to land with one.

You might get some people who go "ooh" and "ahh" but what's the point? Just so you can say you jumped out a plane and landed on a net

He's getting paid to do it is why. It will be broadcast on a network which will sell ads. He gets a cut.

Why attempt to do something where even if everything goes to plan he could still die.

He made it. Kinda caught the outer edge of the net but I guess this is a case where that doesn't matter.
