I'm probably wrong on that, could of been the sister that made the 911 call, so it would of been the daughters bed he hid under... Wording of the article doesn't make it clear who called...
Correct...just watched it again. Seems the sister of the girl with the boy under her bed called.

Doesn't make him an intruder.
What constitutes an intruder? Someone who entered my house without my permission is an intruder. the fact that someone without authority invited them means nothing.

Ok go around shooting people your family invites over without your knowledge and let me know how your trial goes.

you're clearly taking one aspect of this story and using it unjustly.

I remember seeing an article about this in one of the nonstop NRA magazines they keep sending me. You can't treat them as an intruder if they have been invited in your home by someone who lives on the property until you give them proper warning and time to vacate if you are the land owner. They are still considered a guest up until that point. Now if the girl lied about knowing the kid, like some of the articles are saying, then that is something different altogether.

That's my whole question here.
"Who's in here?"
"Nobody."
"There's someone under the bed! Who is it?"
"I don't know!"
As a parent and homeowner, I'm pretty edgy at that point. Sad deal all around.

And people got their panties in a wad when I said after you ask them to leave and give them time to comply, they're no longer an invited guest.

I think most of us are level headed and would realize what was going on and just tell the kid to leave and punish the daughter as appropriate. This dad most likely just flipped his shite. I don't think I could just shoot someone hiding under a bed. Even if it was a burglar, I would have the gun pointed on him and tell him not to move and have someone call 911. Just keep him there til the cops got there or shot him if he made threatening moves.

The title of this thread just completely fricked the whole conversation.
I can't find any part of the article that says the boy was in the girls bed, or that the girl was even present in the bedroom.
If I walked in on a random stranger alone in my daughters bedroom, there would be some violence.
Then entire story changes if he knew the kid or his daughter was present. But as written, the dad will not be indicted (in TX).

If the kid was under the bed, defenseless, I would likely keep him there at gunpoint and call the cops. If she fessed up that she knew him, I would let him out from under the bed.
And then whip both their asses.

Different article linked later in the thread.

The father then went into the girl's bedroom and discovered the 17 year old male in bed with his 16 year old daughter.

This mixed with the report of the daughter denying that she knows the kid to the dad makes it look like someone broke in to rape the girl. Kid would deserve to get shot for that shite.

nah, he's taking this

and reaching the natural conclusion. you basically said if your wife invited her girlfriends over and you didn't give permission, they would be "intruders"

Don't know how I feel about this. Regardless of the situation, if someone is trying to harm me in my house, he dead.

Why should he have to prove self defense? The guy was in his house without his knowledge.

Most likely scenario is the brother told the dad. Dad got his gun to scare the crap out of the boy. When he entered the room, the daughter panicked and said she didn't know the boy at about the same time the boy is scrambling to get his clothing together. Dad sees erratic behavior and starts flipping out. Boy tries to charge past dad to freedom and safety. Dad sees is as the boy charging at him and hems him up. A struggle ensues. Dad shoots boy. Daughter freaks out and says she actually knows boy. Panic all around for minutes. Dad either has a real or feigned heart problem requiring medical assistance.

Because what appears to be an innocent guy is dead for banging a girl who let him in her house.
