I moved in 2020, went from Dish to ATT fiber - Hulu/prime/netflix/hbo max. Costs me about $150/month for all.
ATT Fiber has been very reliable, but I did get an OTA antenna for a couple of TV's in case it goes out, but I guess you could also watch from phones if needed. I'm saving a bunch of money over what I was paying for internet and Dish and have most to watch.

I used to just flip around and find something then leave it there while I did things. Now I feel like I have to watch whatever I wind up choosing.
I have this issue too. Makes no sense, but I have it

I went with Youtube TV and I am saving 150 a month. My father an I split the account so it is really more than that. I think you can have up to five people watching at the same time.
I went from Directv to this and haven't looked back.

Dumped Directv on Friday. I'll be signing up for YouTube TV soon

Most people were already paying for internet while having a cable or satellite provider I would assume. I don't factor this into my savings because I would have internet regardless.

As long as you have good, reliable internet speeds in your area, it’s fine. I have 100 mbps where I live and we stream everything, including live TV. We can have multiple streams going simultaneously, even with one of the kids playing video games and have no issues. We have:
D-Stream (DirectTV streaming Svc)
Netflix
Disney +
ESPN +
HBO Max
Amazon Prime
Apple TV
Peacock
I may be forgetting one or two. We share those with my MIL and brother so I only actually pay for like three or four of them.

The remote for my TV literally controls everything. You aren't doing something right.

I know it's not direct TV, but recently dropped comcast cable for youtubeTV....no idea why it took me so long. less than half price and honestly it's a better all around service

Any regrets?
Less TV the better

No regrets whatsoever.
Once ESPN creates a viable streaming app or loses its near monopoly on college football, then there will no longer even be a need for "almost cable" apps like Sling.

Not for us in Ascension Parish.
I live in AP. Mine wouldnt drop but it would hiccup for a half second about every 2-5 minutes. It got so aggravating I switched to YouTube TV. Haven’t had any issues since.

hell to the no. dropped DTV and replaced with youtube tv. better service for only 65/month compared to the 200 i was paying for dtv.
between
youtubetv
netflix
espn/disney+/hulu bundle
prime video
discovery+
hallmark movies now
att fiber internet
i pay less than i did with DTV, just for DTV. i get hbo max with my phone and 247 gives me paramount +. SO i get more channels, more movies plus internet for cheaper than just dtv was and i have better service.
after hurricane laura my internet was back up the next day. as soon as i flipped the generator on and reset the modem....boom had tv.
one of the best decisions i ever made.
