The difference is you treat those mental illnesses to end the symptomatology. With gender identity, the push is to enable it, not treat it.

Last time I checked, there were some out there that are fine with being gay. Maybe some wish they weren't, but I've never heard anyone say "I'm glad I have schizophrenia"
I don't think having consensual sex with adults of the same gender is on par with diseases that can keep you from functioning as a productive member of society. Let them scissor, and go balls deep in each other.....they're generally contributors to business, art, and love.

My mistake. I suppose that's something I would have to think harder about. I definitely think that gender identity crises are tragic. The mind is a complex, powerful, sensitive, weird thing. As long as they don't hurt anyone, should they be denied equality?

Define equality? I don't care if a girl who feels like a guy changes in my lockerroom. Honestly, the biggest section I've heard that's not fans of it is women. A lot of my female friends have voiced concern that a man would be in their lockerroom.
