just don't act like the body of scientific research on the subject concludes that there is no connection between marijuana use and mental illness.

depends on where you are in the "distribution chain" and how far away from the grows you are.

for a quarter:

Shreveport: $120-$130 unless you've got a hookup, some people charge $140+
Austin/Dallas: $100-$120, some even cheaper than that
Cali/Colorado: $80-90

Medical goes for about $80-90/quarter in co, for the good shite.

Recreational goes for $120-140/quarter in co, for the good shite

Most of the retail recreational stuff is going out as grams. a gram of 25% thc weed lasts a LOOOOOONGGGG time for those who are used to 10%

yea I'd gladly pay $120 knowing I'm getting primo shite directly from the grower. and if it's not directly from the grower, it's coming from the dispensary who bought it directly from the grower. it's all regulated pretty damn well in Colorado too. you know you're getting what they say it is.

If they try to pull this crap in WA I don't see how it would work. The black market price isn't nearly that high here, and I think people will stick with their dealers, if it gets north of $300 an oz. I'm no expert on economics though.

Did y'all see the news story about the DEA seizing hemp seeds shipped to a University in Kentucky to study hemp and it's benefits for fiberous material, etc., etc. because their permits were "not in line with federal law"?

How crazy is it that the feds would enforce that, but let all this go on out West?

I don't know if that was a frick you Mitch McConnell shot across the bow or if there is some serious behind the scene palm greasing going on out West with the white house and Attorney General.

What should it matter in a "free country"? If you don't want to smoke pot, don't smoke pot. If you do want to smoke pot, have at it. Why does someone need you to tell them how to live their life?

This is a wonderful fall back question whenever there are discussions of pot, drinking ages, seatbelt usage, helmet usage for motorcycle drivers, etc.

The answer lies somewhere in the fact that "free countries" don't impose mandatory taxes on their citizens simply for existing. Or that the tax is an effort to subsidize healthcare for others who are suffering the consequences of "freely" taking known health risks.

The Associated Press reported one dispensary selling a high-grade marijuana strain for $70/8th that it was selling for $25/8th on the medical side.

The trade group does not formally track prices, but estimates that recreational cannabis is selling for an average of $400 an ounce in Colorado – twice the $200 charged on average for an ounce of medical marijuana.

At the Clinic Colorado in Denver, prices for recreational, or adult-use, marijuana ranged from $55 to $77 per eighth-ounce portion – the most commonly sold amount – compared with $37 to $46 for medical patients.

Good counterpoint if you neglect to recognize all of the tobacco smokers.

People are going to do what they want, and no, we should not subsidize or nationalize health care. Smoke up if you want, and pay for your own insurance. Smokers should pay higher rates.

You linked an article which referred to a study using 97 people who started smoking as teenagers. I don't think anyone is saying that people less under 18 should smoke weed.

All of these studies are correlations and in almost every single one you will find the phrase "which contrasts with others" because there is no definitive connection one or another.

Remember that these scientists are publishing to advance their careers, and no one is going to get another grant from the US government if they start trying to publish shite that says weed is not dangerous.

No, that's about right. Maybe a little less than that depending on variety.

recreational is about the same, but it's much higher quality since you're most likely getting it straight from the grower

No..No...No

I have in my hands right now, a publication called "Westworld"

It is the "Gambit" or similar of Denver.

It has tons and tons of ads for weed in it.

I pay $50 for 1/8th an ounce locally and that is a good price $60 is average.
In Co
recreational is listed at $30 an 1/8th.
or $140 an ounce.
Recreational.

$99 an ounce for Rx.

It's cheaper and better quality.
