if that is the case, it continues my suspicion that conservatives are not conserving anything anymore.
Like "conserving" our inalienable rights which you seem to not care about conserving? Since when did it become "conservative" to not give a shite about the bill of rights? Maybe you shouldn't have dropped out of college. I read what you posted by the way. No one is arguing that Judeo-Christian values don't permeate our society and our politicians, but the idea of preventing the establishment of state funded religion is fundamentally American and something that makes our country great

The organization behind a tax-payer subsidized “replica” of Noah’s Ark in Kentucky
Isn't this the project/business that was hiring ONLY Christians? Isn't that illegal?

Wait so Noah built it with his bare hands but Ken needed $92 million?
And Noah was like 900 years old, right? Allegedly!

Just went earlier this month. Went to Creation Museum on a Thurs and Ark on Friday. It was packed with people. The nearest town is very small. Dry Ridge. We stayed near Lexington and ate at local restaurants and stayed in hotels just like the majority of the folks there to see it. It will be fine eventually. There is plenty of interest and plans for expansion.

Shouldn't the free market dictate where a business decides to build?
This is my problem with their whining and blaming of others for their failing theme park. Orlando had "The Holy Land" park open and fail. There aren't many areas more tourist-centric than Orlando. If that market couldn't support a religious theme park what made the developers think Middle of Kentucky should be the place for one?

Actually looks kinda cool, but I suspect that people are not beating a path to his door to see a replica.
Hardcore bible thumpers (the target demo) are not going to be dissuaded by atheists and the MSM. If anything, they would be steeled in their desire to help out a fellow believer.
No. It's just people deciding they're not going to the middle of nowhere KY to see this thing.

Thanks mate, nice start to the morning.

I've been wanting to go to the ark. Looks neat. Probably huge in person, and it was built to the exact specs of the Bible. Only thing that scared me away was the price to get in. Too steep. $29.95 would be acceptable, but not $40
Wonder what Noah charged back in the day.

How is it even remotely possible that taxpayer funds were used to subsidize that insane religious tripe?

Welcome to The Old Testament theme park! Are you wearing non-natural fibers? Well I'm sorry, little Timmy, but we're going to have to stone you to death. Hope you appreciate the realism of the experience though!

Never understood the vitrol and anger toward people exercising their religious beliefs that dont have any impact on others. If you choose to not accept what Christ claimed thats for you. Let each person decide for themselves and you go your way and I go mine.

Taxpayer money was used, at least in part, to fund this joke. That impacts others and deserves ridicule.

Since the male and female were the first ever reproducible organisms to evolve, and all
Goddamn you really are a retard. You actually think this is how evolution works, huh?

Taxpayer money
Local municipal bond voted by the taxpayers. Big difference in that and, say, federal taxpayers funding abortions that many folks dont agree with. Twist it all you want but your main issue is that people believe what they believe and deep down you have turmoil about that. Explore it.

Looked it up just to check and there are indeed dinosaurs, if I'm ever that way it may be fun to check out

Creationists believe that the earth is only 6,000 years old and that dinosaurs coexisted with man. That means Noah had room for dinosaurs on the ark
Wait... Noah had dinosaurs on the ark? Sooo shouldn't there be dinosaurs now?

Really good question. Pay a visit to the Ark Encounter and perhaps you'll see the reasoning behind the evidence.

The evidence is the exact same. Our starting points are just different.

I would think that most people that visit the place more out of curiosity than having a good time... Thus, I don't think there will be a lot of repeat visitors like a Disney theme park.

Since you had been, I always wanted to know if they ever addressed the question of the Flood... Fresh Flood or Saltwater Flood?
If the flood covered the earth, what happened to the animals that lived in freshwater/saltwater specific habitats? Their homeostasis and osmotic regulation mechanisms are very different between fresh vs. salt water enivironments. I know that there are animal that can live in both environments (some dolphins and sharks) but most cannot.
