Unfortunately idiots think this is the darkest timeline and spend their money now instead of saving or partially saving for the future. They also see all the bailouts we have done for companies, and just assume the same thing will be happening for the regular joes.

If politicians take my blood, sweat, and tears that I've used to build up my retirement and/or make it useless, I will lead the revolution.

Perhaps these folks feel hopeless and are living for the day and a moment of happiness. The reality is a large portion of this country is fricked with no real future prospects as their wages will never increase in a meaningful way. Thus they say frick it and YOLO on the here and now.

It’s called doom spending.

What else is crazy is how fast things that cost ridiculous amounts of money sell out. Specifically tickets.

Season tickets to lsu plus parking is out of this world for endzone seats. Most any lower bowl pels game is more than $100-$150/ticket. Concerts for medium names are expensive and big names are simply unattainable.

Add on to that even if you want a mid level family suv, that’s a $1000+/month note. This sounds cliche but it’s more than my first house note when I bought IN 2007!!

I’m not judging on what people spend their money on, fly your flag! I’m trying to figure out logically how people have money to afford these things!

I'm just not going to cry on the internet about shite I can't control. I'm not an emotional bitch that worries about what I drive vs my peers car.

Yes, I end up paying for things like student loan forgiveness, even though I don't have a single college credit and I'm debt free. It sucks.

But bitching on the internet must be cathartic to people. Carry on.

I've been deep frying cicadas. Not bad with a little hot sauce. Tough times.

I bet most of these guys drive nice trucks, have a decent to nice house, maybe a boat, hunting camp etc.

No way other people can afford a $250 bounce house for a toddler's birthday party though

Why do people keep complaining about the costs of things and inflation, but they still feel the need to keep up with the Jones’?

Can you not bitch about the cost of things if you can still afford them?

The OT used to brag about their badass cars and expensive toys. Now it brags about how old and cheap their cars are. And talks shite about other dudes with expensive trucks.

friends with a young couple who are the most overindulgent parents I’ve ever seen, great people, kids are nice but spoiled rotten, parents seem to try to outdo themselves at every event, bounce house, snow machine for a crawfish boil, elaborate themed birthday parties, kids have been to ten countries, etc., they’re four and five years
