Need to know which race is affected the most before I can determine my level of outrage thanks

I would be behind forgiveness for those in debt, at least in part.
It was all a shitty scam that only existed because the government allowed loans to be issued to the schools.

Seems like this would be the tip of the iceberg, and more of this would make the news.
One local company made the papers a few years ago because of false advertising their actual ability to place X-ray tech students into internships, leaving them with no where to go after doing a year or so of classroom study.
Same company dances around the issue of accreditation, and for its ability to get ultrasound tech students clinical placements and even sit for the exam.

I know two people that ran up over $50k for an associates degree here in Baton Rouge at ITT. That's an obscene amount of money for a 2 year degree.

So they bear no responsibility for making a shitty decision?

Sort of speaks for itself why they didn't attend a regular college in the first place.

My wife worked as a recruiter for Everest a few years ago during a big teacher hiring freeze. Many of the schools were very rude to her or flat out refused to let her come and talk.
Once she started to realize what they were it became very morally conflicting.
Thankfully she only worked there for about six months.

quote:Having a $50,000 loan forgiven would cause a $7,500 tax liability for those in the 15% tax bracket. How much would you care to bet that those in favor of student loan debt forgiveness also want to exclude the cancellation of debt from income to save the borrowers from paying taxes on their boon?
So they bear no responsibility for making a shitty decision?

I'm curious as to why these students didn't bail last year when the ED first stepped in and ordered the wind down.

Did I not say "at least in part?"
It was a stupid choice, but they earnestly were trying to better themselves, only to find it was completely valueless in the job market.
Not the field mind you, but the education itself.
