Not a smoker, had 2 sinus surgeries in the last 16 months due to polyps. They say that it's asthma. I hadn't had asthma in almost 20 years. Still get constant respiratory infections which affects my daily life. Like exercise, sports etc. Getting fed up with the doctor's constant just take prednisone or anti-biotics then it comes back four weeks later. He says it's south louisiana so these things happen. That's bullshite so i go thru life and now all of sudden i get respiratory infections every 4-6 weeks. Currently on a steroid rinse, plus allergy shots which i think is a joke. Shots been the last 14 months, feel no different. Last sinus surgery was 2 months ago.
Currently seeing Dr. Alldrege in Laf but thinking about seeing another opinion. Really just looking for answers if anyone else has run into this problem and what route has helped them.
I know tl:dr, my life is over.

I've had lung issues too for the past 3 months. I think it has something to do with the amount of marijuana I smoke though.

You're unhappy with your current care, yet you don't seek a second opinion...

My wife had a similar malady....was a cardio-pulmonary specialist who sorted it out....Wife had sinus surgery, rinses, asthma, bronchitis, etc., you name it....seems she had a chronic, very chronic infection in one of her sinus cavities and the draining would irritate and result in a constant cough....I don't remember what he put her on (antibiotic), for about a month no less, and it nailed it.

GP, ENT, missed it

Well, asthma isn't curable so you probably still have asthma. If you're not managing it well, then that may be why you're having the issues.

You know -- I had something similar -- not as intense -- but it could escalate to an upper respiratory infection -- usually was just allergies, post-nasal drip, fever, etc. 3 to 4 times a year.

I started taking 7000IU of Vitamin D daily with a dose of Vitamin K. I haven't been sick like that in 3 years now. As a matter of fact, I haven't been sick at all.

I advise you do some research on Vitamin D for general health benefits and see if it's something that could bolster your immune system enough to prevent this from happening.

Any recommendations in the Lafayette area. Barrett Aldredge did the first surgery, his son John performed the second. Just fed up and will be leaving them shortly

I had this going on for a very long time. I would cough so much that I was actually cracking my ribs. After many doctors visits I eventually landed in the hospital. It ended up being a disease called Sarcoidosis. They can only diagnose it with a lung biopsy. It is under control now and life is much better.

You should consider going to see a Pulmonologist. There is an excellent one in Baton Rouge named Dr. Roy Culotta . Good luck and God bless!

Go see an immunologist. Talk to them about a longer steroid prescription. Then try protonix daily. If that all doesn't help you might have AIDS.
