They will, and it wont be five years...much sooner and the rates will rise too. The Comcast low cost Internet service is about to end.

the bureaucrat/lobbyist revolving door on Cap. Hill right now ensures it.

They are why I'm in complete pain as a free market libertarian that supports net neutrality.

Gonna kill the cord cutters stealing services and running up my cables bill

I don't think I use anywhere near the cap so it doesn't bother me
It will bother you when they slow down your lesbo p0rn sites because they don't pay comcast the premium not to get throttled

Comcast may roll out data caps for all customers within five years
Ya they MAY and those data caps MAY be 10,000gbs a months. I wouldn't worry about any of this stuff until it happens and if it does I will just find a new ISP because I live in America!

Not when all the other ISP's do the same thing. They all already over charge the shite out of people for substandard speeds.
Right now I pay around 80 bucks a month for 100meg fiber and over 200 channels with much better HD quality than you can get in states, from Virgin Media.
In Germany I paid 20 euro a month the first year for 100meg cable and 42 a month the second year.

That is still VERY cheap IMO as long as you don't have any data caps. I mean....its less than $3 a day. I don't see the US being any worse than that in a few years.

I don't have any data caps and I have better HD. The guys who set my stuff up where shocked when I told them about the bullshite with American ISP's. They assumed American had lighting speeds.

We will have at least the same technology you currently have in the US, for cheaper, in the next 5 years so everyone should just calm down!

It also comes down to infrastructure. Getting fiber in American neighborhoods and towns is a pain in the arse. My parents have Fios and it took over a year for it to get approved. After that they basically had to dig up peoples yards.
In the UK/EU the infrastructure is laid in place with no push back b/c its regulated by one company with gov't backing. Then that company loans out its data lines to other companies. So here BT owns all the infracture but loans its stuff out to Sky and Virgin also while providing their own service.
In Germany is was deutchtelokom, who actually owned kabel deutchland as well who provided the best speeds.

I have 250 gigs with uverse and have never approached my limit.
Regardless of whether net neutrality gets tossed or not changes are coming sooner rather than later as more people cut cable. These limits may be just the beginning.

Paige is a woman thus her opinion on the matter is invalid.

It's not really that big of a pain in the arse, especially if you have a local utility board or Google install it. If Verizon installs it, they will bitch and moan the whole time.
I am glad I live in a place that already offers me gig service and will no doubt only improve upon that.
