What does him being white or adopted by white people have to do with anything?

So the only things that matter are things that directly affect your life? That's great reasoning.
By your rationale, the Holocaust, The Titanic sinking, the Great Depression, etc. shouldn't matter.

This doesn't effect the lives of anyone though. Those events did. Colin Kaepernick not standing for the National Anthem has zero effect on anyone.

Political speech, no matter how misguided, has always been protected to the utmost. It's a cornerstone of our country.

Now, do I agree with a multimillionaire athlete's stance on "oppression" by the government? No. But that's doesn't make his any less entitled to show discontent through silent, peaceful protest.

Exercising your First Amendment rights = stupid now? Most of the people screaming the loudest are all about the Constitution, constantly screaming about how our Government is disregarding it and all, but have no problem with tearing another human apart for exercising their Constitutional rights.

I will walk you through this S L O W L Y.

Every single person in this thread understands his Constitutional Right to exercise his free speech any way he chooses. Literally, every person here.

The act of exercising your rights to free speech is neither "stupid" or "smart". It is essentially value-neutral.Each of us does it all day, every day.

Kaepernick is not being criticized for exercising his right to free speech, he is being criticized for the content of said free speech.

Why are you and so many others so bent out of shape about people who disagree with him exercising their right to free speech? There is no immunity or insulation that exists within the United Sates of America from the content of one's speech, nor should there be.There is only the belief that one has a right to express it, not that it will be well-received.

Guess I'm just not a hypocrite. I respect the right of any American to express themselves in however non-violent way that they wish and I expect them to do the same for me.

Again, it's not his right to protest that is being criticized, it's the content of what he is expressing that is being criticized.

Oh please. To believe that we would have to believe that you have NEVER offered your opinion about the comments or behavior of another person. That's all that is occurring. A mediocre SJW-wannabe NFL scrub is being douchey- and people are offering opinions. Yours defending him is no more virtuous than someone who criticizes him. You can say any damn thing you want, but you don't possess some invisible "right" to then shut down the Free Speech that follows. I'm not sure you understand how this works.

I'm well versed. I just find it to be a bit Nazi Germany-ish that people feel the need to force others into patriotism through Ostracization.

I'm not debating that he's a mediocre, even terrible, quarterback.

Haha you are a fricking idiot. Most aren't mad he isn't a patriot its that he is standing up for some ridiculous media driven idea. When's the last time dogs or water hoses were unleashed on a peaceful group of black people? Ask yourself why it is always some criminal killed by police and not a teacher, doctor, etc.

I don't want to see a guy not stand for the anthem...I want to see him donating money for whatever movement he is supporting. Money speaks louder then words. All he is doung is fueling controversy to stay relevant.

Do you have access to Kaepernick's financials? Who said he's not donating money along with protesting?
