Co-worker with terrible body odor

A really good employee (but a guy without a lot of personality) has terrible b.o. This guy has the funk. The women complain about it, but no one has gone to management.
One of my co-workers wants to talk to management about it - I want to talk to the guy one-on-one in private, approaching him in a friendly way.
What do you think?

Go talk to him.
50-50 chance he'll actually respond by bathing/showering everyday.
Some people just don't bathe and I have no idea why.

But it's not just his B.O. He probably needs to wash and dry his clothes more often.

I'm guessing he's brown and fresh of the boat. If so, let him know. No one uses deodorant in India, Pakistan, etc. so they're all used to the b.o. and don't even realize they smell like shite.

Just go talk to the guy. I've worked with people from other countries that don't have the same hygiene standards as we have here. Sometimes they just need someone to talk to them about it. Every one I've sat down with has changed for the better.

I can't stand the ones with horrible bad breath. Brush your teeth and use some mouth rinse. It ain't that hard.

Some people are under that hippie mindset that deodorant causes cancer. The guy probably bathes, he just doesn't wear deodorant

Say something to him

He could be diabetic and unaware. You might save his life, hero.

let management handle it.
if you try to tell hime nicely, you will be the one who gets in trouble for "workplace bullying" or some shite.

I'd let management know. Eff being dragged into some internal law suit because the guy has a weird gland issue and took offense.

Anonymous emails until he fixes the issue. You can also leave soap and deodorant at his desk. Eventually he will get the hint.

No way this ends well...

Say, "WTF is that smell" every time he walks by or standing near you. Ask him directly if he smells it too and where he thinks it's coming from. You have to handle these situations delicately and passive aggressively.

It's cultural. That's his family smell. It took a long time for him to smell that way.
